The Initiative

There is a hole in the podcast market - there are no podcasts on EU R&D funding even though thousands and thousands of people every day are trying to get their heads around how to develop the best proposals to realize their research and innovation projects.

This podcast will answer to this. The podcast will - in the beginning - focus on the Horizon Europe funding scheme and will focus on challenges and give suggestions how to solve them with tips, tricks and a heavy luggage of experience.

The podcast is independent from any interests. It is my own private initiative. This is important. Any organisation that would embark on building a podcast on this would have a bias. The Grant doesn't have a bias. It is totally free and will take full advantage of this fact.

Focus will be on the processes leading up to actually writing the proposal document, the writing process itself and what happens when the funding is secured. The initiative will unfold organically into the different layers and corners of this wonderful area.

I have invited a group of my contacts onboard the initiative as friends of the house. Of course, I have labelled the group 'Advisory Board'. They are my external resources on issues I know less - or nothing - about to be able to cover as many aspects as possible. This will also open up into panel episodes and other creative ways of engaging these fantastic people.

I have many ideas on how this will develop so keep close, subscribe to the initiative and follow me down the road.

Your dedicated host

I am Niels Tudor-Vinther and I am your dedicated podcast ´creator and host

I have worked with EU R&D funding since 2008 in a broad variety of different positions. This is the experience that I build on in my podcast.

From 2008 to 2010 I was working as civil servant for the Danish goverment in the National Contact Point section in the Minstry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

From 2010 to 2015 I worked in Brussels for a Danish national initiative. Alliance for Offshore Renewables, to attract more EU funding for the offshore renewable sector. Here I did facilitating and connection work as well as lobby activities towards the Framework Programmes

From 2015 to 2016 I worked shortly as a private consultant´ in PNO Consultants in their Brussels Schuman office. Here I wrote proposals towards Horizon 2020 and the LIFE programme

From 2016 to 2019 I worked for a Danish regional representation, North Denmark EU Office, where I supported local stakeholders including SME's, municipalities and the university approaching EU funding - primarily Horizon 2020, but also ELENA, LIFE and ERASME+

From 2019 to 2022 I have been working again for PNO Consultants as a business developer shaping innovative business models towards the research sector and developing early ideas into full Horizon Europe proposals.

Currently, I am employed with a regional support organisation in South Denmark securing a strong connection between industry and education and attracting qualified labor.
